Due to the
changes within the search community many pay for click sites have
appeared. While a few have had their successes, there has also been many
failures. The most common reason for failure is that databases have been
small. While some sites are charging for listings, their appears
to be a problem of getting content quality sites. Even large sites need
the help of Google, Open Directory, or Inktomi to balance their
inventories. Recent checks of current databases, including Yahoo provide
proof of many dead links, non-updated sites, and poor consumer confidence.
Constant changing of program costs and policies are indicative of future
problems. The Interment was meant to be free, but dot com failures and
user disgust are widespread. Proof of disgust has been the over use of
pop ups and banners, which yielded less than acceptable results. |
