Where is my site?
Chances are if you have submitted it a few
month's ago it probably didn't make it this
time around. ...
Resubmit but......before you do....Think and Recheck your web site.

1.) Directories won't take web sites with little or no content.

Make some style changes and add more text
that is relevant to your web site. Perhaps
redo your site with fresh coat of interesting
stuff. Graphics, Navigation,  get rid of all those banners for now.

Concentrate on one central idea. That's what they want. Yahoo...Looksmart  Open Directory. Don't have a car theme, sell books on rabbits, talk about life in your town,  Soccer scores in Libya. Just the car theme, concentrate on that. You'll get listed quicker.

Rename your site if you haven't had any success and redefine your subject matter more. Make it
super central to your title!

Make sure most of your text is more concentrated and detailed closer to the top
of your page using keywords that best fit your site.

Make Spelling corrections.

Knock off some pictures to speed up load time. Last word and very important to Yahoo, is to
check how your page looks in different  size resolutions (640x480) (800x600). See if you can read entire sections, or if you are chopping off words or having to adjust your browser. Yahoo is very specific of the detail of your site:
1:) Do all the links work.
2:) Does Title equal contents of site .
3:) Use of keywords throughout site.
4:)Before you even think of adding your site find exactly where it belongs. You must find the best category and sub category to list your site. Editors do not have time to do this for you.
This is what I consider the main reason why so many web sites get rejected besides content . Search for sites similar to yours before you submit!
5.)You may be  better off adding it as a personal homepage or perhaps listed in regional than
another higher category heading. Better odds here!
6.) Review sites they list that are close to your site definition. What did they do and what can you  do to make your site better. Make comparisons.  Don't copy their stuff but use it as a guide to prepare your site.
7.)Editors review countless  sites so give them something special and new.
8.)Be careful of load times, change graphics from gif.
to jpg. format use ( Livepro). If you need to use gif
formats use converters that remove size and amounts
of color to gif. Try Gif Optimizer

More to come.
